Spain s PM to visit Ukraine on Monday to support Zelenskiy

MADRID - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez plans to travel to Ukraine on Monday to support President Volodymyr Zelensky and the Ukrainian democracy, he said on Thursday, a day after U.S. President Donald Trump called Zelensky a dictator.

Trumps remarks and his change of U.S. policy on the three-year war in Ukraine heightened concerns among U.S. allies in Europe that his approach to ending the Russia-Ukraine conflict could benefit Moscow.

Ill be in Kyiv on Monday to reaffirm Spains support for the Ukrainian democracy and President Zelensky, Sanchez wrote in a post on social media platform X.

Trump has also claimed Ukraine was to blame for Russias 2022 invasion, and his administration opened talks over a peace agreement directly with the Kremlin, without including Ukraine or European partners. REUTERS
