Swedish top flight match halted by faulty sprinklers

The Swedish womens top-tier match between hosts Vittsjo and Djurgarden on Friday was suspended after the pitch sprinklers came on mid-game.

Vittsjo were building an attack seeking an equaliser after going 2-1 down when the action was halted with water pouring out of the sprinklers.

Now theres suddenly a water war on the pitch, the TV commentator said.

The game restarted and Djurgarden hung on for a 2-1 victory to move top of the Damallsvenskan table. REUTERS
