SINGAPORE – In partnership with the Football Association of Singapore (FAS),A-League Women’s team Brisbane Roar will be coming to Singapore for a five-day tour in April, the organisations announced on Feb 21.

Singapore forward Danelle Tan, who plays for the Australian team, will be part of the squad travelling to the Republic for the tour, which will run from April 1 to 5.

It will include junior football clinics, community engagement events, as well as an exhibition match against the best of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) at Bishan Stadium on April 4, just over a month after the 2025 WPL season kicks off on March 1.

Tan, who signed her first professional contract when she joined the Roar last August until the end of the 2024-25 season, is excited for the trip back home.

The 20-year-old said: “It’s always special to go back home, and this is a fantastic opportunity to promote women’s football.

“Young aspiring players will get to watch a professional women’s team up close, giving them a benchmark for the level overseas.

“It’s also a great chance for us as a team to grow closer, both on and off the pitch.”

She made her debut for the club in January after being sidelined by a knee injury, becoming just the second Singaporean footballer to feature in Australia’s top-tier women’s competition, following former national midfielder Lim Shiya, who played for Perth Glory in 2008-09.

This will be the Roar’s first overseas tour and the club’s chief operations officer Zac Anderson believes the team will benefit from the experience as they gear up for the tail-end of the season.

The regular season ends on April 20, with the top six teams progressing to the Finals Series.

The Roar are currently fifth in the 12-team table on 25
