Abu Dhabi has significantly expanded its protected natural areas designating 20 of its land as nature reserves This initiative adds 4 581 square kilometers of new zones and enlarges existing ones bringing the total to 26 reserves The move aligns with the UAEs commitment to global sustainability and its hosting of the IUCN World Conservation Congress 2025
