Johor firefighters carry 200kg man with breathing difficulties from third floor home to ambulance
A team of firefighters from Johor did the heavy lifting on June 18 when it was called to move a 200kg man from his third-floor flat to a waiting ambulance after he complained of breathing difficulties.
Skudai Fire and Rescue department chief Saifulbahri Safar said a 10-man team from his department responded to a distress call at 10.49pm, and found the 46-year-old, who has asthma, suffering from breathing difficulties.
The department operations commander Faisal Ismail told the New Straits Times that the man was unable to move on his own due to his condition.
He has been bedridden for two years.
“The man was transferred from his bed to a portable stretcher before being placed into a waiting ambulance,” said Mr Saifulbahri.
The man was wrapped in bedsheets and carpets to protect his body and moved down the stairs by firefighters, Malaysia’s Berita Harian reported.
The operation lasted until past midnight and ended with the man taken to Hospital Sultanah Aminah to get treatment.
